Best of Nicaragua Itinerary:
DAY 1: MANAGUA
Pick up and greeting at airport by bilingual guide and transfer in private transport to hotel in Managua.
DAY 2: MANAGUA – MONTIBELLI PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE
Breakfast and tour of Managua with visits to the National Museum, footprint museum with oldest evidence of human existence in Central America, Tiscapa Hill, former site of Dictator Somoza’s Palace, zipline down volcanic Lake Tiscapa. Transfer to private nature reserve of Montibelli. Lunch and an afternoon nature hike. Dinner at Montibelli. Lodging in private cabin.

DAY 3: MONTIBELLI – CHOCOYERO NATURE RESERVE – GRANADA
Breakfast and morning bird watching hike of the reserve’s forests. Lunch at the reserve and private transfer to natural reserve of El Chocoyero. See howling monkeys, toucans and thousands of green parakeets. Transfer to Granada. Dinner at restaurant and lodging at Hotel in Granada.
DAY 4: GRANADA
Granada, Central America’s oldest European settlement, boasts beautiful, Spanish colonial architecture, petroglyph museums, and excellent restaurants. After breakfast, tour of Granada’s colonial beauty, museums, and historic sites. Boat tour of Granada’s island on the North end of Lake Nicaragua. Lunch on one of the beautiful islands. Dinner and evening out for live music.
DAY 5: GRANADA- OMETEPE ISLAND
Breakfast and transfer to San Jorge. Ferry ride across along Lake Nicaragua to the double volcanic island of Ometepe. Tour around the island, and Concepcion Volcano. Swimming at the “Ojo de Agua” natural, spring fed water pool. Dinner and lodging at hotel on Ometepe.
DAY 6: OMETEPE ISLAND-SAN JUAN DEL SUR
Breakfast and transfer to ferry ride back to San Jorge. Transfer to San Juan del Sur, a beautiful, horseshoe bay. Lunch and afternoon at the beach with options of surf lessons or a boat ride to more remote beaches. Dinner and lodging at hotel in San Juan del Sur.
DAY 7: SAN JUAN DEL SUR-LA FLOR BEACH
Breakfast at Hotel and transfer to La Flor beach. Options of surfing and a sailboat ride. Transfer back to San Juan del Sur for Dinner and evening out for live music. Lodging in hotel in San Juan del Sur.
DAY 8: SAN JUAN DEL SUR-LAGUNA DE APOYO CRATER LAKE-MASAYA MARKET AND VOLCANO–MANAGUA
Breakfast and transfer to Laguna de Apoyo for swimming in the crystal clear waters of the volcanic crater lake, plus spectacular views of the crater. Lunch at lake and transfer to Masaya Market to souvenir shopping for beautiful handmade crafts. Transfer to Masaya Volcano and ride to top for views within the crater. Transfer to Managua. Dinner and lodging at hotel in Managua.
DAY 9: MANAGUA-DEPARTURE
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport for departure.
